Berlin Hotel - Swissotel Hotel
We stayed at the Swissotel in Berlin for 2 night in March 2008 and were really impressed by this hotel. The hotel is very modern, clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and breakfast was amazing.
Prepare to be treated like a rock star, even if you are just an ordinary couple visiting for a long weekend. On my birthday, I found a beautiful chocolate cake, fruit and birthday card signed by the staff in my room at lunchtime. Even our dog got great service… Upon entering our room, we found a deluxe doggy bed and stainless steel bowls awaiting our dogs arrival.
Swissotel Berlin is situated in the heart of the city, in the famous Kurfürstendamm in Berlin’s illustrious shopping district. People there are very kind, the room was perfect, and in-room espresso was absolutely smart. Swissotel is an excellent five star hotel, cool and relatively minimalist (which I like): good food and service, and usually a bargain. 316 elegantly appointed rooms and suites feature state-of-the-art technology with two Swiss Executive Levels, designed with the needs of business and leisure travelers in mind. There is a nice sauna which I did not try and the gym is open 24 hours with supervision from 7am to 10pm. No swimming pool. The restaurant is good, but the menu is not varied enough. The center of the hotel is an empty space that looks down thru glass at the lobby area where many people have coffee in the morning.
Swissotel Berlin is a truly stylish hotel, interiors reflect the avant-garde flair of this vibrant city, combining lavish furnishings with a bold contrast of marble and gold. The conference level consists of several meeting rooms, each capable of holding up to 70 delegates, and a spacious Ballroom for up to 350 people. The bold exterior architecture is highlighted inside by modern art pieces; amenities include well-equipped computer rooms and a view restaurant with cutting-edge cuisine. The property provides 11 meeting and banquet rooms, which is an ideal venue for events, both large and small. Rooms are equipped with a private en suite bathroom, hairdryer, air conditioning, television with cable/satellite TV, in-room safe, internet access, iron/ironing board, mini bar, direct dial telephone, pay per view movies, radio, coffee/tea making facilities, voicemail and an alarm clock.
